Porchlight | AI Use Policy

At Porchlight, we believe technology can be a valuable tool when it is used intentionally, responsibly, and in support of human creativity. Artificial intelligence is one of many tools available to our team, but it does not replace the people, artists, vendors, and creative professionals who bring events to life.

Event Design & Planning

At a specific stage of our planning and design process, Porchlight may use AI-assisted tools to create design concepts, mockups, or visualizations of a proposed event space.

These visualizations allow us to explore layouts, décor concepts, and item quantities before physical resources are committed.

One of the primary purposes of this process is to help reduce unnecessary event waste, which can include excess food and décor/design elements that may otherwise be purchased or created for a single use and discarded after the event.

By visualizing and refining a concept beforehand, we can make more informed decisions about what is actually needed and identify opportunities to reuse, rent, repurpose, or eliminate unnecessary items.

AI-generated visualizations are concepts- not guarantees of an exact final appearance. Final designs are based on actual products, materials, florals, rentals, venue conditions, budgets, and vendor availability.

Marketing & Graphic Design

Porchlight primarily uses Canva and traditional graphic-design tools to create our marketing materials, advertisements, event posters, and social media graphics.

The overall composition, layout, typography, branding, information, and creative direction of these materials are developed by our team. As part of the design process, we may occasionally incorporate digitally generated or AI-assisted visual elements alongside traditional graphics, photography, and design assets.

For example, AI-assisted tools may be used for product placement, such as taking an image of an item from our rental inventory and creating a visualization showing how that product could look within a wedding, party, or other event setting.

The use of an AI-assisted element does not mean the finished piece itself was automatically generated. Our marketing materials are assembled, edited, refined, and designed by our team to reflect the Porchlight brand and the specific event being promoted.

Any completed creative work produced entirely through automated AI generation will be clearly identified with the label “AI Generated.”

Artist-First Mindset

Porchlight will always prioritize artists and human creativity.

AI is not a substitute for creative professionals. Our goal is, and always has been, to collaborate with those individuals.

Before using AI to produce visual elements for marketing materials or design concepts, Porchlight will make reasonable efforts to work with artists and creative professionals when practical.

AI may assist us with visualization and certain design tasks, but it will never replace our commitment to supporting the creative community.

Our Approach

Porchlight will continue to evaluate how these technologies are used as they evolve, with an emphasis on responsible use, transparency where appropriate, sustainability, and respect for artists and creative professionals.
