With its breathtaking coastal views, historic architecture, and beautifully landscaped grounds, Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park is one of Connecticut’s most picturesque wedding destinations. We were thrilled to return to this stunning venue to provide Day-of Support services for Jackie and Barrett’s wedding!
From an elegant ceremony with gorgeous ocean views to a reception filled with beautiful florals and candlelight, our team worked behind the scenes to help bring the couple’s vision to life.
For Jackie and Barrett’s celebration, Porchlight; An Event Company was responsible for assisting with the physical setup and breakdown of wedding décor throughout the venue.
One of the largest undertakings was preparing the reception space, which featured an impressive collection of approximately 130 hurricane vases with candles and 150 single-stem floral arrangements. With over 300 individual decorative elements to arrange, attention to detail, organization, and efficiency were essential. Our crew carefully placed each piece according to the couple’s design, helping transform the reception space into an elegant setting for the evening’s festivities. It’s often these smaller details, repeated across dozens of tables and spaces, that require some of the most significant behind-the-scenes effort.
A unique logistical challenge of this wedding involved preparing the ceremony space at Harkness Memorial State Park’s iconic amphitheater. With back-to-back wedding ceremonies scheduled at the amphitheater, our team had a limited window to prepare the space for Jackie and Barrett’s ceremony.
Situations like these are a great example of why professional Day-of Support can be so valuable. Even the most beautiful wedding settings can present logistical challenges, and having a dedicated team available to handle the physical details can make all the difference.
In addition to our setup and breakdown responsibilities, our team had the pleasure of working alongside Dee, the Day-of Coordinator provided by the couple’s full-service caterer. While Dee oversaw the coordination of the celebration, our crew provided additional hands-on support to help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Throughout the event, we assisted with vendor needs, supported transitions between key moments on the wedding timeline, and helped address unexpected issues as they arose. Having an additional team available allowed us to respond to needs efficiently while supporting Dee in keeping the celebration on track.
Great events are a team effort, and this wedding was a wonderful example of how coordination and support professionals can work together to deliver a seamless experience for the couple and their guests.
